Garrett Shearman came to real estate through a camera. He ran a film and advertising company, spent years marketing other agents' luxury listings in New Orleans, and eventually decided he'd rather represent the properties than just shoot them.

He got licensed with Gardner Realtors in 2020 — a memorable year to begin a career built on walking people through buildings. Latter & Blum bought Gardner during his first year; bigger company, and he was still named its Rookie of the Year for 2020. He moved to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Preferred, REALTORS® in 2021, and stayed. The work since has been broader than the origin story suggests: luxury listings on both sides of the lake, plus first-time buyers, investors, and builders. He started the Shearman Group in 2024 to do at scale what he'd been circling since that house in the Quarter — a practice where the filmmaking and the representation are one job, not two businesses.
